Sedimentary Rocks
Clastic Sedimentary Rocks

Medium to coarse grained clastic sedimentary rocks, such as sandstones and conglomerates are usually formed through high-energy processes of sedimentation such as glaciations, gravitational movements, strong winds and rapid water flow in environments such as mountain streams and wave-battered beaches. The rounding and sorting of clasts give clues about their transportation history. Fossils are rarely preserved.
