Introduction
The museum occupies an area of ca. 500 m² across the G/F and 1/F of the James Lee Science Building of the University of Hong Kong. Exhibits are presented with detailed Chinese and English explanations. Permanent exhibitions comprise 4 major galleries with many attractive large-scale educational rock fabrications resembling an outdoor environment through which the museum depicts the natural occurrence of fossils and different rocks types usually encountered in field. Together with interactive exhibits such a as a 3D interactive Earth globe model, a rock cycle model, a “Make your own Earthquake” display and touch screens the museum encourages visitors to touch and interact with many of our exhibits.
