VALIDATING GLOBAL GEOSPACE SIMULATIONS FOR SPACE WEATHER FORECASTING

The global geospace simulation, that is, the simulation of the interaction between the magnetosphere-ionosphere-thermosphere system with MHD models and the solar wind, which is mainly to study the space-time distribution characteristics of plasma and the characteristics of space electromagnetic environment in various space weather processes It is of big significance in the space weather forecast. This research uses the new magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) numerical simulation tool GAMERA (Grid-agnostic MHD for extended research applications) to simulate various space electromagnetic environments and plasma characteristics in global geospace. The simulation results are compared with satellite observation data to verify the validity of the numerical model. It would contribute to future space science research and improve space weather forecasting.
