DEPS QUARTERLY RPG LUNCH GATHERING (15 JAN 2026)

The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (DEPS) kicked off Semester 2 of the 2025–26 academic year with its Quarterly RPG Lunch Gathering on 15 January 2026. This event also served as an orientation for new RPg students who have recently joined the department.
Interim Head Professor Liu Zhonghui warmly welcomed both new and returning students, emphasizing the importance of these gatherings in fostering strong connections between students and faculty members. Professor Liu also discussed the recent rationalization of office space and extended a special welcome to Assistant Professor Guo Meng.
Professor Louis Wong, Associate Head (Research) and Chairperson of the DRPC, greeted the new students and spoke about the responsibilities of teaching assistants. He also highlighted the importance of applying for leave and conference grants in advance.
The event was well-attended by 35 RPg students, research staff, and faculty, who enjoyed lively conversations over lunch. We look forward to another successful gathering at our next event.
