DEPS ORIENTATION CUM QUARTERLY RPG LUNCH GATHERING (11 SEPT 2026)

The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (DEPS) launched the 2026-27 academic year with its first Quarterly RPG Lunch Gathering on 11 September 2026. This event also served as an orientation for new research postgraduate (RPg) students.
Interim Head Professor Liu Zhonghui warmly welcomed both new and returning students, emphasizing the importance of these gatherings in building strong connections between students and faculty.
Professor Louis Wong, Associate Head (Research) and Chairperson of the DRPC, greeted the new students and shared valuable information about the study programme. He offered helpful tips on coursework requirements, thesis examinations, leave applications, and conference support. Professor Wong also introduced key departmental staff members, Crystal Wong, Elke Yeung, Terence Lam, Diane Chung, and Marine Kam, who support students throughout their academic journey.
The event was well-attended by RPg students, research staff, and faculty, who enjoyed lively conversations over food and beverages. We look forward to another successful gathering at our next event.
