Dr. Chen, who earned his Ph.D degree from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2021. His research centers on the dynamics of planetary magnetospheres and ionospheres, particularly focusing on Jupiter and Earth. Using advanced numerical and physical models, he investigates key processes such as magnetic topology and reconnection in Jupiter’s magnetosphere, as well as the electrodynamic responses of Earth’s ionosphere to solar activity. His work aims to unravel the fundamental mechanisms that govern magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling and energy transfer in space plasma environments across both giant and terrestrial planets. Dr. Chen is also expanding his research to comparative auroral studies and ionospheric dynamo processes in rapidly rotating planets.
